The “Hunting Wives” stars fell prey to this candy.
Before filming sex scenes together, co-stars Brittany Snow and Malin Akerman actually got ill.
“There were so many mints on that set,” Snow, 39, revealed while on the “Not Skinny But Not Fat” podcast. “To the point where we got, both of us got sick.”
She and Akerman, 47, ate “too many mints” — and one day, she even devoured an “entire tub” of them.
“As women, you’re so mindful of each other,” Snow continued. “Guys, they sometimes don’t care. There’s not a mint in their mouth. But with Malin and I, it was like, ‘Are you OK? Can I put my hand here?’ It was just so nice and so different.”
“Hunting Wives” hit Netflix in July. The series follows Sophie (Snow), who “falls into a wealthy socialite’s magnetic orbit (Akerman) where a clique of housewives hide deadly secrets,” per the synopsis.
The drama also stars Dermot Mulroney, Chrissy Metz, Katie Lowes and Jaime Ray Newman.
Snow praised Akerman’s professionalism on set.
“Something great about Malin too — I mean, there’s so many great things — but she’s really, really attuned to what I was thinking or other people are thinking in terms of comfortability,” the “Pitch Perfect” said on the podcast. “She was always very aware that — she’s Swedish — so she’s more, I don’t know, open with nudity.”
Akerman would ask her things like, “‘Do you want me to put my body here, so you don’t have to show this part of yourself?’” Snow thought that was “so selfless and nice.”
Now, the “Pacifier” actress wants to continue doing nude scenes as she approaches 40.
“If you think about it, there’s a stigma in Hollywood that, once you’re 40, you’re no longer seen as a sexual being, which is completely false. So I love that our show brought new light to that, that you don’t stop having sex when you’re 40,” Snow said. “I hope you have more.”
In July, Akerman touched on the steamy show and her on-screen affair with Snow.
“I love roles like this. Women who are just big and free and wild,” she told The Post. “This show is saucy and fun, and I love veering away from who I am in real life, which is a people pleaser, and stepping into something that’s a bit more queen bee, leader of the pack. It was amazing.”
“I’ve done it in the past and I just think that when it moves the plot forward, I’m all for it,” she went on. “I’m not for gratuitous scenes, and I think that this is necessary to Margo’s character.”
The “Comeback” star also gushed over the cast’s “wonderful intimacy coordinator.”
“So before you even get to set, we’re rehearsing the scenes. We’re talking about what we’re comfortable with, what we are not comfortable with so that when we get to set, we’re ready to go and we know there are no surprises,” Akerman elaborated. “It’s very technical. But when it’s on your TV screens, hopefully it feels very sexy and exciting.”
The set overall is very “playful,” too.
“Brittany and I get along so well. She’s such a lovely human. We would be sitting there kind of giggling like school girls, like, ‘Oh my God, this is so crazy. What a job we have!’” she told The Post.
“I’m so glad it was with her, and we felt so comfortable with each other,” Akerman detailed. “We’d become really good friends — and how lucky that we did end up getting along. Because sometimes you have to do scenes with people you’re not as bonded with. So, of course there’s some hesitation, but we always felt really well taken care of.”
