My little cousin Harmony just turned nine last week. When everyone asked her what she wanted for her birthday, she didn’t ask for toys or a party. Her only request was for the whole family to show up and bring gifts, not for her, but for her to give to people without a home.

So we honored her wish. Harmony went straight to the shelter with bags full of gifts and money, and she handed them out with the biggest smile. Watching her walk around sharing kindness like it was the easiest thing in the world truly moved me.

Chicago is real in every way. The love here is real. The struggle is real. The hurt and the violence are real. But the heart and hope in this city are real too. And this moment captured all of that. A real picture of my sweet little cousin praying over a man who needed love more than anything. He bent over crying while she held his hand and prayed like a little angel.

I had to share this moment because it touched my heart just like she touched his. Kids like her remind me that there is still so much good in this world. ❤️🙏✨
