Following the Mexican President’s call for protests in the United States, Senator Eric Schmitt will be introducing legislation to impose a 15% tax on all remittances to Mexico.
“I’m introducing legislation to quadruple the proposed remittance tax — from 3.5% to 15%.
America is not the world’s piggy bank. And we don’t take kindly to threats.”
This would crush Mexico’s economy.
