Officer Lamar Lewis works long 12-hour shifts, plus the time it takes to get to and from work, before coming home to his family. Last night, our oldest daughter fell asleep standing by the couch, waiting for him to come home. He misses birthdays and holidays to keep our community safe. While he’s working, I pray for a safe night, hoping I won’t get the call that every officer’s partner fears. Even though he works hard as an officer, he loves and cares for our family, including our child with special needs. He faces each day like everyone else. Officers are people too. I’m proud to be by your side through it all.
