In Season 17’s Tell All, after confirming his separation from Janelle and his divorce from Christine, Suki said she hoped he would find his “happily ever after.” He responded with:
“I hope I find a happy and beautiful place with Janelle.”
It’s easy to lump all the relationships together, but this moment showed that Kody was still emotionally invested in Janelle, even after separation. He hadn’t expressed this kind of hope or desire for reconciliation with Christine, and he’d already declared things over with Meri.
This doesn't redeem him or make him any less terrible. It's just that the levels of effort and connection were clearly different between the marriages.
I do wonder if he now regrets linking his happily ever after to Janelle, especially since she spent that tell all saying she didn't love him anymore despite having affection for him.
