“I’ve had my card declined and had to return groceries.

I didn’t want him to have to go through that.”

That’s what Kevin Jones (on the right) said about Jason James Boudreaux.

Boudreaux was standing in front of him in line at a supermarket and his card had just been declined because his paycheck hadn’t been processed yet.

Jones stepped up and said:

“I got you.”

Boudreaux said:

“Hey, what are you talking about?

I can’t let you do that — that’s too much.”

“But he insisted, and kept saying, ‘I got you.’”

“When I told him I would pay him back, he said, ‘No, you don’t have to.’”

Jones says his attitude is:

“If I’ve got it, you’ve got it.’ I’m happy to help.”

Since then the two have become instant friends.

They’ve had family get togethers and barbecues.

Jones told the Washington Post:

“Jason is a kindred spirit — you aren’t going to find many people like him.”

“It was like destiny that I was standing behind him that day.”

And Boudreaux says simply:

“We’re going to go fishing soon.”

“Kevin is my brother now. We’re friends for life.”
