Started with a pattern, realized it was crap, came up with my own.I got a bunch of the facets yarn on sale at Michael’s and decided to try an β€œeasy bead stitch” sweater. Quickly I realized that the pattern was total crap and would have resulted in the croppiest of crop tops with ridiculous sleeves and a choking collar. I used the same stitch repeat but added more rows to the body, the arms I completely changed, the neckline I changed and added a SC collar. My seams aren’t perfect but for an β€œon the fly” creation I’m pretty pleased with myself. I also really like thumb holes on my sweaters so I changed the seaming to allow for thumb holes.

Has anyone else found themselves in a similar situation? Would you consider this a new pattern even though I used the original pattern writer’s stitch repeat?
