Vincent Pannizzo was once a graduate student at UC Berkeley. He was working on his Ph.D and studying ancient history. He never really noticed the homeless people around him. Then one day he said he started reading the Bible and something inside him changed. He knew he had to help.
Vincent made a brave choice and dropped out of his Ph.D. studies. He started driving around with a van full of food and blankets. Every day, he helped over 100 homeless people in California from Oakland to El Cerrito. He checked if they were okay, gave them food, clothes, or a safe place to stay. He truly looked after them like family.
In 2013, Vincent started his nonprofit “Mission for the Homeless.” He said, “Homelessness can touch anyone. It’s important to remember that behind every person without a home, there is a story.” He even lived outside in a tent so others could sleep inside a warm house. Vincent gave up everything to show love to people who felt forgotten. He’s doing what he can to help others one person at a time.
