Tonight, I was at Kroger in my husband’s sweatshirt. The guy ahead of me in line asked if it was mine, and I explained it was my husband’s. It surprised me. He then asked if Austin was with me so he could thank him, but I said he was deployed. Without a second thought, the man started putting my groceries on the belt with his and told me he was paying. I was stunned, just repeating “thank you” over and over. He said that place almost took him from his wife and kids, and asked me to stay true to my husband and love him even more when he returns. I’m still in shock an hour later. There’s still so much good in the world, and we need to focus on that instead of the negative.
