This scarf is worked with two strands of a brushed alpaca yarn. If you are not able to get these yarns, you can use worsted/aran weight yarn instead (one strand). Some details are worked with one strand of yarn, some with two. If you only have one strand of worsted weight yarn, that should not make much of a difference.
