Yesterday in Athens, Avery urgently needed to use the restroom. The nearest option was a downtown Subway. An employee informed us the restroom was for paying customers only. Without my wallet, I apologized and prepared to leave.

Two young men nearby immediately offered to buy Avery a cookie so she could use the restroom. I was incredibly thankful. After Avery used the restroom, we thanked them again and started talking. They were both UGA football players. Go Dawgs!

We chatted, laughed, and had a great conversation. It was a small gesture, but it meant a lot. These college students, without hesitation, offered help without expecting anything.

The world needs more people like Latavious and Jaylen. They reminded me of kindness. It made me think of Andy Stanley’s sermon, “What does love require of you?”

Thank you, Latavious and Jaylen. You gave us hope. What the world needs now is love. Go Dawgs!
