After a long day of mowing lawns, I saw a man I didn’t recognize struggling with his yard. I couldn’t just leave him to it, so I went back, got my mower, and offered to help.
He was clearly happy for the assistance, and I got to work. As I mowed, I saw him comforting his wife. I finished quickly, gave them a thumbs up, and started packing up.
Before I left, the wife came over, incredibly grateful. Their riding mower had broken, and her husband had been using a push mower on their large lawn. It only took me fifteen minutes, but I felt like I’d made a real difference, even if just for a moment.
I hope this inspires someone to do something kind for someone else. I’m thankful for my own good fortune and the people who’ve helped me along the way.
