“What started out as a welfare check for reckless driving….this elderly man, who has not driven a car in years, thought he would drive himself to the store to get his wife of 59 years a Valentine’s gift. He bought her a tiny box of chocolates. The caller and his wife decided they should see that this elderly man get back home safely and got him back to his residence. Deputy Gulley responded to the location of the store, received details of why the call originated, and decided a small box of chocolates for a 59-year marriage needed a little bit more attention. He and several patrons created a basket of goodies for this couple. Donnie delivered the items to the sweet man and I’m positive it made a Valentine’s Day he and his bride will always cherish. If you know Donnie Wayne Gulley, this comes as no surprise to you. It’s been yet another hard and challenging week for law enforcement, but here’s a call for service that goes above and beyond.
