When news first broke about a reality show for Alec and his family, the public was unsure what to make of it. Alec, an Academy Award winner, is a bona fide movie star, having starred in such films as Beetlejuice, The Hunt for Red October, and Glengarry Glen Ross.
He is also famous for his personal life, having had many scandals throughout the years, usually related to his famous hot temper.
Alec is not the type of person one would see as a reality star, but he and his wife signed on for a season of eight episodes. However, the show did not take off the way the network probably expected it to. The U.S. Sun reported that only 682,000 tuned in for the first episode, with only 423,000 sticking around for episode 2.

With the show’s lackluster first season having aired, many are curious whether the network will bring the family back for season 2. There is no official word on another season, which probably doesn’t bode well for them. A story in the Daily Express reported that a executive was unsure of whether it would return, saying “I doubt it,” when questioned.
In a telling clip shared, Extra asked Alec and Hilaria whether they’d want to return for another season of their reality show. Alec said that it’s harder to be yourself on reality TV than it is to learn lines for a scripted project, but when asked whether they’d return for another season, Hilaria seemed more enthusiastic, saying:
“This is a very raw show, and it’s very real. We took a lot of chances. We’ll see where it leads us, we’ll see what it feels like to have it be out there, and then we’ll see if people like it.”

Since The Baldwins is a family show, the Baldwin family is the cast. In season 1, all of Alec and Hilaria’s children appeared, as did Alec’s older daughter, Ireland. Should the show be renewed for another season, it would make sense for Alec and Hilaria’s entire family to return, as they are the focal point of the show. However, Ireland’s return is not as definite.
Alec comes from a famous acting family. If the show is renewed, it would be fun to see some of his famous brothers appear. If the show wanted to pull in viewers, maybe they could entice Alec’s famous niece, Hailey Bieber, to show up to one of the kids’ birthdays with her husband, Justin Bieber. Although unlikely, Hailey and Justin would attract higher ratings.

The Baldwins season 1 began filming before Alec’s July 2024 trial for his involvement in the death of a crew member on the set of the film Rust. Alec’s case was eventually dismissed. If the show receives the green light for another season, it would make sense for them to follow a similar shooting schedule, which means that The Baldwins season 2 would most likely film over the summer.
