August 4, 1944 on what would have been his 81st birthday, we honor Lt. Victor Patrick Buckley of Falls Church, Virginia, who went missing in action during the Vietnam War in 1969.
Just shy of 25 years old, Pat was sent off aboard an aircraft carrier bound for Vietnam—a journey from which he never returned. Over 1,500 American servicemen remain missing from that conflict, their fates unknown, their families holding onto hope and memory.
Pat’s fiancé, Darlene, remembers him with love and sorrow, a reminder that behind every name lies a story of courage, sacrifice, and unending devotion.
Though decades have passed, Lt. Buckley’s spirit endures—etched forever in the hearts of those who loved him and in the legacy of all who served.
Let us never forget their sacrifice.
