During our long 12-hour drive this weekend to drop my son off at college, he reached back a few times just to hold my hand. I held it, and my mind went back to the first time he grabbed my finger the day he was born… to the times we held hands at the park, on his first day of Kindergarten, and all the special moments in between.
This was a gift I’ll never forget—he knew just what my heart needed this weekend. He gave me one last chance to hold his hand before letting go. The love in those quiet moments told me everything: he’s going to be okay. He’s ready to take on the world.
