CHICAGO MAYOR: “This is what our country would look like had the Confederacy won.”
Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson (D-IL) told reporters during a press conference that “they [Republicans] are absolutely terrified” when discussing domestic terrorism. “Look, I remember a few stand-ups ago, I talked about what terrorism looks like. This is it,” the mayor said. “There should be no question to what our country would look like had the Confederacy won,” he added.
Mayor Johnson’s remarks were made one day after his Chief Operating Officer was leaving his administration to join the Obama Foundation.
