90 Day Fiancé star Asuelu Pulaa has fans wondering if he joined the U.S. Army after the 29-year-old appeared to announce his enlistment, sparking curiosity about his new career. Asuelu first appeared in 90 Day Fiancé season 6 with Kalani Faagata. The couple met in Samoa, where Kalani lost her virginity to Asuelu, and they welcomed their son Oliver before Asuelu could even come to America on his K-1 visa. Later, they had another son, Kennedy. However, as the years passed, Kalani became increasingly unhappy with their married life.

In 90 Day: The Last Resort, Kalani and Asuelu were on the brink of divorce after she caught him cheating, which she discovered when a disease on his tongue. To make things even, Asuelu allowed Kalani to kiss another man. However, Kalani ended up falling for Dallas Nuez and chose him over Asuelu. Before confirming she wanted a divorce, Kalani exposed Asuelu for cheating throughout their relationship, even while she was pregnant with their son Oliver. She revealed he had cheated 12 times. Kalani is now with Dallas and shares a baby, Masina, with him.

Asuelu Hinted At Joining The U.S. Army

Asuelu’s Video Leaves Fans Guessing About His Army Enlistment

Asuelu recently shocked his followers with a social media update. He shared a video on Instagram featuring a large group of men all using their phones to call, text, and browse while Asuelu filmed them. He captioned the Reel, “The good feeling is having our phones for 1 hour,” and used the song “Good Time” by Owl City and Carly Rae Jepsen to reflect his mood. While Asuelu didn’t explain where he was or who the men were, fans began congratulating him in the comments. “Oh wow. That’s cool! Good luck,” wrote hayacountskilos.

Asuelu’s follower, lorikb0804, commented, “Good for you! Your boys will be proud!” Many of Asuelu’s fans concluded that he had joined the Army because the men in the video clip were all wearing Army shirts. However, Asuelu never appeared on camera in the clip, nor did he confirm whether he was part of the recruits. Still, it seems likely that Asuelu was also dressed in casual Army attire like the others and was using the video as a way to announce his enrollment in the U.S. Army.

Did Asuelu Really Make This Major Life Change?

Is Asuelu Telling the Truth?

Interestingly, not all of Asuelu’s followers are convinced that he has made this major life change. One of his fans, vahliciouz, commented that Asuelu had not joined the Army and claimed the video he shared is an old one. “He reposted it. His not a U.S. citizen,” the fan wrote. However, Asuelu doesn’t have to be a U.S. citizen to join the Army. One must be a legal permanent resident with a valid Green Card, which Asuelu has. Still, in February, Asuelu announced he was “deporting back” to his native country, Samoa, after his visa “expired.

Asuelu lied to his followers about being deported. He continued to mislead them by claiming he had moved to Zimbabwe and was getting married there. However, a video from Asuelu’s time in the U.S. Army confirms that he is still in America. More details about his career move are needed to show whether he’s genuinely trying to improve his life and prove to Kalani that he can be a good father to their children. Asuelu turning over a new leaf is unexpected, but it’s a welcome change for him and his family.

Could This Possible Life Update Make The Exes Reunite?

Kalani and Asuelu’s Co-Parenting Journey Amid His New Career Path

Asuelu may have been joking with fans who told him to leave the United States because of how he treated Kalani during their marriage and the belief that he used her to get a visa. However, his recent career update seems to be genuine. Throughout their relationship, Kalani often expressed frustration over Asuelu’s lack of ambition and inability to support their family financially. Even so, this new chapter in his life is unlikely to change her feelings. His actions deeply hurt Kalani, and she has even accused him of alleged abuse during their time together.

“To new beginnings and the best life for our boys!”

Kalani never misses a chance to post about how much happier she is with Dallas. The couple celebrated two years together in February. In a post from March, Kalani wished “safe travels and good luck” to Asuelu and mentioned that he was starting a new adventure. “I’m thankful for how far we have come and how well we co-parent,” she wrote. Fans assumed she was referring to Asuelu getting deported. However, the 90 Day Fiancé star may have been hinting at Asuelu’s Army career, reassuring fans that they will continue to co-parent Kennedy and Oliver.

90 Day Fiancé airs Sundays at 8 p.m. EDT on TLC.
