Disturbing new details emerge in ‘SYTYCD’ star’s death at 36: report

New details have come to light following the tragic death of Joshua Allen.

The “So You Think You Can Dance” star reportedly walked directly into the train that ultimately took his life in Fort Worth, Texas, on Sept. 30 at the age of 36, according to the US Sun.

A 911 call obtained by the outlet on Friday showed that an unidentified man called police to report that a male had been struck by a train in Fort Worth at the time.

The caller went on to tell dispatch that the train’s conductors had described the individual hit by the train, and the victim ultimately turned out to be the beloved “SYTYCD” Season 4 winner.

“They said it was a Black male with a tan shirt, and he was recording on his phone while he was walking towards the train,” the caller reported, per the outlet’s recording.

The train’s conductors first noticed Allen from roughly 200 feet away, according to the police report from the incident.

“I made contact with [the conductors] of the train, they both stated that while traveling northbound on the train tracks, they observed Joshua walking southbound on the train tracks, and recording the train as it got closer,” the police report stated.

“[The conductors] then began to sound the train’s horn to get the attention of Joshua,” it continued. “However, Joshua ignored the horn and continued to walk towards the train until he was struck.”

“The conductors both stated they had only observed Joshua when he was approximately 200 feet away,” the report concluded, “and could not stop the train.”

Allen was said to be pronounced dead at the scene.

One of the famous dancer’s relatives first confirmed Allen’s passing in a statement to TMZ on Oct. 1. They said Allen was struck by a train and died at the hospital one day earlier.

Emmanuel Hurd, Allen’s friend from the dance community friend, told the outlet that he was shocked by the news.

Hurd remembered the “SYTYCD” alum as “a very honest, real person” who “didn’t always do things the way that everybody thought he should, but that’s why he was a winner.”

Allen’s final Instagram post from July 21, meanwhile, was a touching tribute to actor Malcolm-Jamal Warner, the “Cosby Show” star who died at the age of 54 after drowning while on vacation in Costa Rica.

“Fly high King,” the dancer wrote alongside a photo of himself and Warner.

Allen won the popular Fox reality competition show in 2008 when he was just 18 years old.

The runner-up that season was Stephen “tWitch” Boss, who went on to DJ on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show.” Boss later took his own life at the age of 40 in December 2022.

“We were two of the closest people there,” Allen told Entertainment Weekly after winning Season 4 of “SYTYCD,” adding that he and Boss “were really happy for each other.”

After “SYTYCD,” Allen landed acting roles in 2010’s “Step Up 3D” and 2011’s “Footloose,” as well as an episode of “American Horror Story” in 2011.
