Eric Stein Returns After 18 Years

Big Brother 27’s finale crowned a new winner in the underestimated Ashley Hollis, but the biggest mystery of the night stemmed from the unexpected reveal of the BB Mastermind, who turned out to be three former houseguests who felt shafted by twists. Big Brother 8’s Eric Stein, Big Brother 10 & 11’s Jessie Godderz, and Big Brother 16’s Frankie Grande were revealed to be a Mastermind team.

While many likely remember Frankie, Jessie and Eric are two Big Brother houseguests that newer fans aren’t likely to remember. While Jessie, also known as Mr. PEC-Tacular, has a following from the reality TV series and his professional wrestling career, Eric is someone who hasn’t been involved with the show since his time on 2007’s Big Brother 8.

After coming in fifth place, Eric served on the jury who crowned Evel Dick Donato the winner of the season against his daughter, Daniele Donato. Daniele went on to compete on both Big Brother 13 and Big Brother 22, the second iteration of All-Stas. Eric, who was the first ever America’s Player on BB, resolved the twisted season-long mystery.

Eric Stein’s Big Brother 8 End Was Difficult

He Was A Front Runner To Win The Game

Although Big Brother 27’s twists and turns were hotly debated by viewers, it was clear that the series was doubling down on houseguests having to expect the unexpected. This has been true for Big Brother since its early years, including when Eric competed on Big Brother 8. As the first-ever houseguest to become America’s Player, Eric was given tasks, earning money to do America’s bidding.

While some were easier than others, Eric was adept within the game and worked hard to ensure that he wasn’t discovered by his fellow houseguests. Ultimately, Eric’s eviction stemmed from a double eviction loss to eventual winner, Dick. Although he didn’t win the game, Eric was able to earn nearly $70,000 from his America’s Player tasks throughout the BB season.

The Big Brother Mastermind Twist Was More Thorough Than Anticipated

The Reveal Made It Clear Viewers Had Missed A Lot Of Detail

Although both Jessie and Frankie were cheated out of their Big Brother by big twists, Eric’s eviction was a big different. Despite being America’s Player and being incredibly close to the end game, he was taken out by people he felt were his allies in the house. The Big Brother Mastermind twist, which wreaked havoc on the game throughout the season, had similar energy.

As Eric, Jessie, and Frankie were revealed to be the trio of Masterminds behind the difficult season, viewers were floored. While Frankie is someone who’s come back to BB regularly and Jessie, more than most, Eric hasn’t been seen on Big Brother since his time on the show. Watching a wonderful player return, even for a Big Brother bit, was an iconic end to a fun season.
