Found this on the road. Little, alone, sitting on the edge of the road like he’s waiting for someone. Cars went by and he just stood still, not moving.
I pulled over. I went down. He looked at me with those tired eyes, unafraid.
He didn’t bark. He didn’t run away. He just walked to me like he knew they were coming for him this time.
I took him in my arms. It was so light…
He fell asleep in the copilot seat like he could finally rest.
I don’t know where he came from, but I know one thing for sure: he’ll never be alone again.
