I was parked outside a friend’s place, windows down, music low, just passing the time when it happened—out of nowhere, this tiny orange cat jumped into my car. At first, I thought he was lost or maybe belonged to someone nearby. But the way he climbed into the passenger seat like he’d done it a hundred times before told a different story.

He was skinny, dusty, and his fur had patches missing, but his eyes… his eyes were full of hope. I looked around, called out, even waited a while to see if someone would come claim him. No one did. He just sat there, curled up like he had finally found a safe place.

I called my friend to say, “Plans have changed. I think I’ve just been adopted by a cat.”

I took him to the vet, where we found out he wasn’t microchipped and had likely been on the streets for a while. He purred through his check-up like a little champ. I named him Milo.

Now, Milo’s living the cozy indoor life—sunny windowsills, belly rubs, and tuna treats. He follows me around the house like a loyal shadow and curls up on my chest every night to sleep.

I didn’t plan on adopting a cat that day, but Milo had other ideas. And honestly, I’m so glad he did. He didn’t just find a car—he found a forever home. 🧡
