I’m a high school U.S. History teacher here in Kentucky, and I just have to take a moment to share something amazing. I’ve honestly never seen anything like this happen before.

One of my team members, a stellar A+ student, generously offered his 5 bonus points to anyone who needed them—no questions asked. He selflessly gave away what he had earned, his bonus points, to any peer who was struggling on the day of the test.

It didn’t matter to him if they were friends or considered “cool.” He didn’t care about their reasons for scoring lower; he just wanted to help, to show kindness, and do something loving.

I honored his offer, and the recipient was beyond thankful. Those 5 points moved her from failing to passing.

This act gave me so much hope. Let’s all try to be a little more like this young man!
