In Ishpeming, Michigan, a little 5-year-old girl named Sunshine Oelfke learned that one of her friends didn’t have enough money to buy milk at school. Without hesitation, she opened her piggy bank, gathered the coins, slipped them into a small bag, and brought them to class to pay for her friend’s milk.
When her mom found out that several other children couldn’t afford milk either, she decided to join in—donating her own earnings to help cover the cost for them all.
But Sunshine didn’t stop there. She launched a GoFundMe page with a goal of $700—enough to provide milk for her entire class for the semester. That “little” act of kindness turned into something big: she raised over $7,000.
One small heart, one simple idea—proof that you’re never too young to make a difference.
