In Washington Square Park, NYC, Doris Diether, an 85-year-old advocate for housing rights, delighted park-goers by using a marionette of herself to feed the squirrels. The puppet, created by Ricky Syers, perfectly resembled her with its white hair, floral blouse, cane, and handbag, and mimicked her actions. Nathalie Kalbach photographed the charming scene, which was filled with happiness and combined art, the natural world, and the unique charm of the city into a single, memorable experience.
