JUST IN: West Virginia deploys hundreds of National Guard troops to support DC crime crackdown – The Post Millennial
West Virginia will send hundreds of National Guard troops to Washington, DC, in support of the Trump administration’s effort to combat violent crime in the district.
Between 300 and 400 troops from the West Virginia National Guard will be deployed at the request of the administration. The operation will be fully funded by the federal government, The Post Millennial reported Monday morning.
“At the request of the Trump administration, I have directed the [West Virginia National Guard] to support the President’s initiative to make D.C. safe and beautiful. We are deploying 300-400 skilled personnel to the nation’s capital, reflecting our commitment to a strong and secure America,” Governor Patrick Morrisey said.
