My mom once told me about the day she walked into a room and overheard friends talking about her. They didn’t know she was there. She just shook her head, smiled, and walked away. 🕊
She also told me about a friend who spoke badly about her behind her back. That friend never knew Mom found out but Mom quietly stepped away from the friendship, still smiling. 🕊
She shared how some family members pushed her out of their lives when she finally stood up for herself, when she stopped crossing oceans for people who wouldn’t even help her cross a bridge. She smiled, shook her head, and walked away. 🕊
I once asked her how she could walk away so easily from people who betrayed her people who pretended to be friends or family.
She said, “Every time I come to a crossroad like that, I decide who will continue with me on my journey. It shows me who I cannot take along.” 🕊
Then she explained: “Never be angry with someone who betrays you, even in the name of friendship or family. Just bow out gracefully, and enjoy your journey with the new people God will put in their place.” 🕊
