NEW: Israel is considering a campaign to recruit inside the United States as their soldier shortage persists, according to ZeroHedge.
🇮🇱 The IDF currently has a 10,000 soldier shortfall and is coming up with ways to close the gap, Collin Rugg of Trending Politics reported on X on Wednesday.
“There are two principal drivers: draft-dodging by ultra-Orthodox Israelis, and lower retention of current soldiers,” ZeroHedge reported.
Israeli Army Radio said Israel is considering an effort to recruit ~700 Jews a year outside of Israel, focusing on the United States and France.
“The majority of American lone soldiers are coming after high school, either directly after high school or after a gap year program,” said Director of the Lone Soldiers Program at Nefesh b’Nefesh Noya Govrin.
