“It’s funny — before cancer, the thought of running a marathon felt impossible. Even when I was at my healthiest, I would’ve laughed it off.

But I’ll never forget looking at myself after my bilateral mastectomy — covered in drains, blood, and pain — and thinking, “Well, that part’s done… now what?”

Running the NYC Marathon isn’t just about checking off a bucket list item — it’s a bold declaration. It’s proof of what’s possible after chemo, after surgery, after the long road of healing.

Whether it’s 26.2 miles or a quiet hike to catch a sunset, cancer may have closed a lot of doors — but I’ve found new ones. And now? I’m running straight through them.”
