Private struggles Brandon Blackstock’s death certificate reveals agony Kelly Clarkson’s ex suffered during health battle

Brandon Blackstock suffered from seizures as he bravely battled cancer.

Kelly Clarkson’s ex-husband passed away last week at age 48 after a private three-year fight with melanoma, a serious skin cancer, but his death certificate reveals even more about his health issues.

The former talent manager died on August 7 at 11:13 a.m. while at his home in Butte, Montana, according to the certificate obtained by People and certified by the Butte-Silver Bow County Clerk and Recorder’s office on Thursday.

Blackstock’s cause of death was listed as malignant melanoma, with the matter of his passing being determined as natural causes.

It also noted his yearslong cancer battle and listed seizures as one of the “significant conditions contributing to death but not resulting in the underlying cause.”

No autopsy was performed on Clarkson’s ex-husband, and he was cremated, according to the death certificate, which listed his occupation as a rodeo producer in the rodeo industry.

Blackstock’s rep confirmed his passing to The Post last week.

“It is with great sadness that we share the news that Brandon Blackstock has passed away. Brandon bravely battled cancer for more than three years,” the statement read.

“He passed away peacefully and was surrounded by family. We thank you for your thoughts and prayers and ask everyone to respect the family’s privacy during this very difficult time.”

Clarkson, 43, married Blackstock in 2013, and they shared two children together: daughter River, 11, and son Remington “Remy,” 9.

The “Since U Been Gone” singer filed for divorce in 2020 after nearly 7 years of marriage. The exes’ divorce was a long-drawn-out battle over money, custody of the kids, and their Montana ranch.

Their fight came to an end in 2022, when a judge granted Blackstock $115,000 per month in spousal support until January 2024 and $45,600 per month in child support.

Clarkson’s ex later moved on to date her former assistant, Brittney Marie Jones. Blackstock’s obituary revealed he was “building a life” with Jones when he lost his cancer battle.

“Brandon, along with his beautiful and loving partner in life and business, Brittney Marie Jones, started building a life, building companies, and working tirelessly to create Headwaters Livestock Auction and what will live on as his legacy, The Valley View Rodeo in Bozeman, Montana,” his obituary read.
