Famed Pakistani reality star, Humaira Asghar was found dead in her apartment in early July, but her body was found in an advanced state of decomposition, leading to speculation that she actually died sometime late last year. Pakistani model, actress and artist Humaira Asghar was well-known to television fans who had watched her appear in dramas like Benaam, Just Married, Guru, and Ehsaan Faramosh.
In 2022, Humaira appeared on Tamasha, the Pakistani equivalent to Big Brother, which brought her wider career recognition.
The sad news broke on July 8 that Humaira’s body had been found in her apartment after her landlord complained about unpaid rent. Humaira was just 32 years old, and her death has sparked a media outcry about mental health in Pakistan.

Humaira’s body was found in her apartment in Karachi, and according to an article in Images, authorities had to break a lock in order to enter. Because all the doors and windows in Humaira’s apartment were locked from the inside, foul play is not suspected.
Questions are now being raised as to how Humaira’s body managed to go undetected for months. Apparently, an apartment adjacent to Humaira’s had been vacant for months, which is perhaps how nobody managed to notice anything suspicious coming from Humaira’s apartment for so long.
Humaira’s exact date of death is unknown, but investigators are piecing together a timeline, which reportedly includes when she stopped paying rent (late 2024), when the foods she had in her possession expired (September 2024) and when her electricity had been cut off (October 2024).
The investigation into her death, including the cause and date, is still ongoing.

A Friend Released A Message From Humaira
Humaira’s friends and family are remembering her in the weeks following her death, and one friend recently shared a voice note that Humaira left prior to her death. The voice note was reportedly recorded in September of 2024.
Dialogue Pakistan shared a recording of the voice note, in which Humaira can be heard wishing her friend well before upcoming travel. Times of India reported that Humaira also asked for prayers in the voice notes.
“Please pray a lot for me. Pray a lot from your heart for your cute friend/sister. For my career, please remember me in your prayers. You have to pray a lot for me.”
The friend reportedly told the media that she’d reached out to Humaira in April of this year after not hearing from her for a while, and of course, did not hear back from her.

As there are still so many unanswered questions and the investigation is still ongoing, fans are now left to grapple with the loss, and for what her death means about mental health in Pakistan. Humaira made an impact on fans, who remember her lovingly from her turn on Tamasha. Reality fans often feel more connected to reality stars because of the parasocial nature of their relationship with them.
Humaira herself said in a 2022 interview with The Nation that the reality show was a “once-in-a-lifetime experience.”
