Serge was shot and killed on Saturday while defending Kyiv from Putin’s forces—reportedly the first American to lose his life in the war. He didn’t have to go. As a dual citizen, he could’ve chosen safety. But those who knew him weren’t surprised. He did what he always did: stood up for those who couldn’t protect themselves.
