This is my new friend Kenny—though he goes by “Frog” because of his deep voice.
Today I stopped at Goodwill, just looking for a shirt for a party, planning to cut the sleeves off. But I think I was meant to be there for another reason.
Kenny came in while I was shopping, asking for a clean t-shirt. That’s all he wanted. Sadly, the store, which runs on donations, turned him away—and the cashier was downright mean to him. He stood there, embarrassed and crying in front of everyone, saying he was cold. His shirt was soaked through, and I could tell he truly was freezing.
They finally called a manager, but still, no compassion. No one even took him aside—just left him crying at the counter.
So I bought him four shirts, a pair of jeans, some boxers, and a comforter—so maybe when he sleeps under the bridge tonight, he’ll be a little warmer. Another man stepped up too, handing him $5 so he could get a meal. Kenny smiled through tears and promised he was going to buy chicken at Lee’s.
I’m not sharing this to brag—I’m sharing it to ask: please keep Kenny, and all those like him, in your prayers. ❤️🙏
