“Today, I painted a new resident’s nails at work. As we went over the colors, she quietly asked for clear polish. I blinked and thought to myself, ‘Clear? That’s no fun!’
So I gently asked, ‘Why clear?’
She looked down and said, ‘Because my hands are ugly. I don’t want to draw attention to them.’
I paused, then replied with a smile:
‘Your hands are beautiful. They tell your story — the story of love, care, strength, and resilience. These hands have held people, built memories, and touched moments most can only dream of.’
She looked at me, and slowly smiled.
Then she picked pink. 💅🌸
It’s funny how the things we feel most insecure about…
are often the things that hold the most beauty in the eyes of others.
Sometimes, all it takes is someone to remind us we’re worth the color. 💖✨”
