“Your baby has a large mass. Prepare for the worst.” At the time, we were newly married, living in a city where we knew no one, learning to be teachers, and navigating parenthood for the first time. Life felt overwhelming. Older, wiser voices told us to slow down — to wait. But even in the chaos, the pull toward adoption and fostering never left us. Now, with a life full of kids, love, and unpredictability, I look through my dark-circled eyes at this beautiful mess and know, without a doubt, I’m exactly where I’m meant to be.
